Medication of the competition horse
Dr Colin Roberts, BVSc MA PhD FRCVS, University of Cambridge
Dr Roberts has been treating vet at many top-level horseracing, show jumping and eventing competitions, has published prolifically and lectures on Veterinary Anatomy at the University of Cambridge.
He is a member of the Scientific Advisory Group of the British Equestrian Federation, a consultant to the Animal Health Trust and a member of the Fédération Equestre Internationale's Medication Control Panel. He is a fellow of the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons and has previously worked in equine practice and as Senior Scientist at the Centre for Equine Studies at the Animal Health Trust.
He has also competed in point-to-pointing, show jumping, dressage and hunter trials.

Why you should attend this session
Veterinarians in equine practice are frequently required to treat competition animals and it is essential that they are aware of the constraints that this may place upon their prescribing of drugs.
With the recent extension of the FEI model of medication control to national as well as international events, many more horses will be treated close to competitions at which they may be subject to medication control testing.
